Civil Engineering is the science and technology of serving nation through well-equipped and professional personnel. Civil Engineers are also known by Contractors, Builders and Developers who practice in the various fields of expertise. Their main tasks include- construction, design and execution of various projects like Roads, Railways, Tunnels, Docks, Harbors, Residential Buildings, Commercial Buildings, other miscellaneous constructions. Degree in Civil Engineering certificate holders may start practicing Private Contractor, Private Company Job or Government personnel. Other than working right after completing Degree course, one may also go for further studies (ME, M-Tech.). After which he/she can approach to PhD (Research and Development) sector associated with the field of Civil. Starting salary depends on factors like profile of the employer, job location and job profile. Depending upon the above mentioned factors, Degree in Civil Engineering certificate holders may earn anywhere between 10-50K Rupees per month (at start).

Department Information

Degree in Civil Engineering is a Four years course that deals with the various aspects as, Surveying, Hydraulics, Construction methods/techniques, construction materials, human resources/machine management, Structural Design/ Analysis, Irrigation, Geology, Quantity surveying and valuation, Building laws, Earthquake resistant designs, Water Resources, Environmental aspects, Ethics and Values.

In Civil Engineering, students acquires knowledge of active Construction Projects, also learn to plan, design, execute and analyze various civil engineering structures like building, roads, railways, tunnels, docks, harbors etc. keeping in mind the environment friendliness, economy, reliability and safety aspects.

YSPM’s YTC, Satara along with Civil Engineering department is successfully working from 2011 in the field of Professional Knowledge and advanced technical world. While pursuance of Vision and keeping eye one present Mission to achieve it, the department is focusing continuously on quality of teaching-learning process and output oriented education. The Civil Engineering field having a broad range of scientific disciplines which are critical to the efficient, ethical and economic development of the nation. The Civil Engineer is an integral part of the developing nation and advancements in the field of Construction, machineries and service to the Country. Our Academic Excellence Committee continuously follows, reviews and enhances the curriculum to ensure students to develop the competencies essential to the Civil Engineer’s expanding role as service provider. Curriculum changes also reflect scientific advances, reliability expectations, technological advances, the increasing role of the government in Civil services and other influences.

Civil Engineers are basically the construction experts. They are the ones who understand how a advancement heals, how it reacts with development, and its environmental effects. This powerful knowledge makes Civil Engineers, indispensable in the nation building scenario. You can find them working in roads, rails, airports, organizations, companies, government and law enforcement agencies, and as lecturers and researchers at universities around the world.

ABOUT CESA:

Civil Engineering Students Association is an organization formed by the Civil Engineering B.Tech. Students which works for the students. Main objective of organization to provide platform for the students of Civil Engineering Dept. to express and present their skill, talents and thoughts.

Objectives:

  • Organizes various technical and nontechnical activities for the social and personality development of students.

Selection procedure:

First preference of selection of candidate by all students without election. A student can apply only for one post.
